Googly Eyes (>_>)

I am such a slacker. I know this. And that, added to the fact that I worked way more hours than my body can handle this weekend, means I’m a bit reluctant to do anything productive at the moment.

However, sitting on my couch and blogging doesn’t require physical activity (like my job does), so I’ll stop ignoring Dear Aradia and get to fucking work.

I’ve got a crapton of PBP posts to catch up on, so I won’t even bother talking about that. I could talk about what I’ve been doing lately, but let’s be serious. It ain’t much.

On the Good News, Everyone! front, Fiance and I were approved for a very cool apartment downtown. We’ve got our very own private outdoor space too, which makes the hippie in me super happy. I’m already picturing all the pots and planters and garden beds I’ll have. I’m sure, in my lover’s sleep, he’s cringing. Anyway, we move May 1st, which is a really sucky time to move since the fair is 12 days afterwards. I really really really need to get to work on that…

Speaking of crafting though, I was recently asked to design a gift basket for a raffle for a friend of mine who’s doing a V-Day show. She also asked another of my friends, who is as crafty as I am but only in the skin care department, and I didn’t want to infringe on her basket, so I decided to only make a candle and think outside the box for the rest of it. I’m still working on it, but it will involve a vintage picture candle of Rosie the Riveter, a teeshirt with a custom design that I’m attempting to screenprint myself, and a plushie vagina made from recycled felt. Yeah, I know, I’m pretty awesome. It’s okay, you can say it.

I’m also working on redesigning the website. Yes, this is the same website I slaved over and stressed over about a month ago. I want to add things, change things around… be my usual OCD self. Also, as much as I love Aradia’s Apothecary, I think it’s being absorbed back into the Poor Pirate. My skin care line originally started out as an offshoot of the Pirate I called the Poor Apothecary, but decided to make it more “zen” and “new age” with Aradia. I changed my mind again. I have a terrible habit of doing this way too often…

I can see that this post is becoming scattered. After I finish the teeshirt, I plan to put up a tutorial of how I did it. I may also post pictures of the plushie, too. A friend tonight suggested I add googly eyes. What ISN’T made better by googly eyes, after all?

See? Better with googly eyes.

UPDATE:

I found the poster that my lovely friend Mirakel sent to me for her V-Day show. I could have sworn I’d posted this before, but I can’t find that post now, so here we go. If you live in Massachusetts, please PLEASE check this out! My wonderful raffle basket will be there, and more importantly, it’s all going to a VERY worthy cause!!
